A manifold system is a centralized setup that connects multiple LPG cylinders through a common pipeline to ensure uninterrupted, high-volume gas supply to commercial and industrial users.
This is a conventional LPG manifold system used with Self Closing Valve Cylinders, majorly used in small kitchens and industries where consumption is low.
Zero Leftovers: Since it’s a multi-cylinder installation, there is no leftover gas and no freezing of cylinders.
Continuous Gas Flow: No interruptions—switches between cylinders automatically or manually.
Meets High Demand: Multiple cylinders work together to meet large-scale LPG consumption needs.
Enhanced Safety: Equipped with regulators, valves, and pressure gauges to prevent leaks and overpressure.
Easy Maintenance: Alternate cylinder banks allow refilling without stopping operations.
Organized Layout: Neat, centralized installation—no clutter from scattered cylinders.
Large Space Requirements: Each 19 Kg cylinder gives around 400 gms/hr off-take at the lower liquid level. To meet a 100 kg/hr requirement, a 500-cylinder manifold (250 for operation & 250 standby) is needed, requiring a huge area. Large cylinder systems can also pose higher safety risks due to numerous thread joints.
In order to overcome the limitations in VOT cylinder systems, where gas requirement is in the range of 50 to 100 Kg/hr, and where they don‘t have sufficient space to set up large manifold systems, it is propose to install LOT cylinder manifold system.
Liquid off take valve fitted cylinder manifold system is used to facilitate liquid off take from cylinders. The liquid so withdrawn from Cylinders is converted into vapour through a vapouriser. Pressure of vapour coming out of vapouriser is reduced to the required level of 1 to 1.2 Kg/sq cm at High Pressure Regulating Station & then supplied to consumption point ( Burner) thru secondary piping. All the items / components used for the above LOT system shall be as per IS specifications and in line with the directions laid down by statutory authorities.
It is proposed to use LOT valves fitted on 47.5 Kg or 425 kg JUMBO LPG Cylinders. The said cylinders shall be filled at our bottling plant and transported in vertical condition to the customer directly by us. The installation proposed to be set up for using these cylinders shall be supplied, erected & commissioned directly under the supervision of our qualified engineers.
S.No | LOT Cylinder Manifold System | VOT Cylinder Manifold System |
---|---|---|
1 | Since Liquid LPG is drawn, homogeneousness of Product mix is maintained . It was observed that there was reduction of 7 % in consumption of LPG with LOT System where VOT system was used earlier. | Homogeneousness of product mix is not maintained. This will lead to partial combustion & loss of heat. |
2 | Min Off take of 5000 gms / hr even at the lower level of Cylinder. | Off-take of only 400 gms/ hr at lower level resulting in setting up huge cylinder manifold. |
3 | LOT cylinders get totally emptied. Leftover gas is in the range of 150 to 200 gms in 47 Kg Cylinder. | Gas left over in VOT cylinders varies from 1500 gms 2500 gms per cylinder depending on off-take & atmospheric conditions. |
4 | Works independent of atmospheric temperatures, i.e. Summer or Winter, no problems are faced with respect to meeting demand requirement. | Off-take depends on atmospheric temperatures. During Winter offtake comes down & will lead to higher gas leftovers. |
5 | More safer ,as smaller size of manifold ( lesser No. of Thread joints), less No of Cylinders are used. Safety interlocking system provided for vapouriser & also earthing is provided for the system. | In view of large size of manifold (for meeting specific gas requirement over & above 50 kg/hr) , No. of joints are more , which may pose Safety hazard. |
6 | LOT system can meet increased demand due to expansion without further investment. | Whenever demand is increased due to expansion, additional manifolds are required to be provided. |
A gas train, also known as a fuel train, is a system designed to safely and efficiently deliver gaseous fuel to a burner or other combustion equipment. It acts as a bridge between the gas source and the point of consumption, controlling the gas flow, pressure, and filtration. Key components include isolation valves, pressure regulators, safety devices, and filters.
An LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) vaporizer is a device used to convert liquid lpg into a gaseous form to be used as fuel for various applications, such as heating, cooking, and industrial processes. LPG is stored and transported in a liquid state under pressure, but it needs to be vaporized before it can be used for combustion.
Water Bath Vaporizers: These vaporizers use a heated water bath to transfer heat to Liquid LPG. The LPG flows through a coil or a series of pipes immersed in a hot water bath. As the liquid comes into contact with the hot surface, it absorbs heat and vaporizes into gaseous form .
